The most beautiful Sunday in May On Mother’s Day, we will all run together with our children with disabilities… multiplying the message of inclusion, love and joy we feel when we all run TOGETHER!

RACE ANNOUNCEMENT 1st ZERO DISCRIMINATION RUN

 On the occasion of the UN World Zero Discrimination Day (March 1st), The Hope Runners Association in collaboration with the Association of Participants in Olympic Games (ESOA) and the Hellenic Paralympians Association (SEP), with the Support of the Tihio Race and under the auspices of OAKA, announces the 1st Zero Discrimination Run, in the surrounding area of OAKA. The purpose of the organization is to contribute to the formation of an Anti-Discrimination Culture, by spreading the message of zero tolerance to any form of discrimination based on racial or ethnic origin, religion or beliefs, gender, age, disability, language, economic status or gender identity, according to the United Nations. Date of Conduct: The date of the race is Sunday, May 14, 2023 Venue : OAKA surrounding area, with start and finish in front of the Tihio Race Pavillion. Races and distances: 5 km race Start time 10:30am. Children’s Race – Disabled Race 1000 m. Start time 10:00am Supply Stations: In the 5km race there will be water dispensers at 2.5km and at the finish Health coverage: There will be voluntary health coverage by volunteer rescuers from the Crisis Management Team (CMT), ambulance coverage by the EKAV, 10 health volunteers and 3 emergency tool-kits, with the support of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Health Sciences EKPA.

Participations: All athletes who have recently undergone all the required medical examinations and are healthy, taking part strictly at their own risk, have the right to participate. Registrations: Registrations for both races are only done online, filling in all the required information, depositing the amount of 7 euros for the 5 km. Children’s Race – Disabled Race is FREE and there is a limit of 60 entries. CAUTION! ATTENTION: The name of the runner who is going to participate must be mentioned in the registration form. Receiving the participation package: The participation package will be collected from the Secretariat of the race, which will operate in the area of the Tihio Race Pavillion (OAKA surrounding area), on Friday 3/03 and Saturday 4/03 from 12:00-20:00, as well as on race day, at the start area, from 08:30am – 10:00am. Souvenirs of participants: All participating finishers will be given a commemorative collectible medal and goodie bag. Souvenirs will also be given to all volunteers. A technical commemorative t-shirt with the race logo will be given to the race secretariat at the start & finish. Winners Prizes: In the 5km Race, collectible prizes will be given to the first three winners and to the first three female winners in the general category. The awarding of prizes to the winners will take place after the finish of the last runners. Buffet treat for participating athletes: There will be a buffet treat as well as lots of prize draws!!!!
