15th Ancient Myceanean Road Race 2023

The N.P.D.D Social Welfare and Sports of the Municipality of Argos – Mycenae, the Regional Unit of Argolida, the Marathon Runners of Argolida, Member of EOSLMA-Y. The association “Friends of Mycenae and the Mycenaean Civilization” and the Local Community of Prosymni co-organize the 15th Ancient Mycenaean Road on Sunday, June 11, 2023 with the participation of the Cultural Association of Prosymni.

This route follows the traces of an ancient Mycenaean road that connected the acropolis of Mycenae with the basin of Prosymni. The route passes through many points of great archaeological interest.

In the Race can participate Walkers, Horseriders and Runners-Athletes. Starting point “Archaeological site of Mycenae” and finish at the magnificent chapel of Panagia Prosymni, Municipality of Argos, Mycenae.

For runners the distance is 7 km on a dirt road. There will be a water supply station at the 4th km. The Walkers will follow the ancient road 7 km long and will be guided by the teacher of the Music School of Prosymni Panagiotis Psychas.

A. For runners dirt route 7 km

B. For walkers “Ancient road” 8 km

C. For Horseriders the same route but will not be done through the Archaeological site

Limited applications will be made on the day of the race.

At the starting areas there will be a car of the Municipality of Argos – Mycenae, which half an hour before the start will receive the bags of the participants, to transport them to the finish, from where the competitors will pick them up.

All participating runners and athletes will receive a commemorative medal and all participants in the action, a diploma of participation.

Cups will be awarded to the first 3 men and the first 3 women.

On the 14th Ancient Mycenaean Road there will be support from the 1st Scout System. The races will be covered by the Hellenic Argolida Rescue Team, by the Hellenic Red Cross Argos branch with coverage by a Cardiologist and ARGOLIDA FILM.

The race is open to all and Free.

At the end of the race there will be music selections by DJs and all athletes will be offered banana juice and a traditional meal accompanied by wine.

The transfer of participants from the finish area to the starting area will be by bus at 11.30 to 12.00.
