On Sunday, April 10, the 7th International Roads to Rhodes Marathon will be held. The program includes Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 & 5km races. The following is the announcement of the event:

7th International Rhodes Marathon – Roads to Rhodes Marathon.

EAS SEGAS Dodecanese, announces and co-organizes, with the Region of South Aegean, the AMKE “Rhodes Marathon” and with the support of the Municipality of Rhodes and D. Ο.Π.Α.Ρ. the International Road Marathon “Roads to Rhodes Marathon”.
At the same time, on the same day, Half Marathon (21.1 km), 10 km and 5 km road races will be held.

3. Right to Participate

Men and women who have reached the age of 18 have the right to participate in the Marathon and Half Marathon races, while for the 10 km road race they must have completed the 15th year of their age and for the 5 km road race. the 12th year of their age.

For all runners under 18 years of age, the written consent of one of their guardians is required.

In addition they must hold:

vaccination certificate (within 14 days of completion) or
disease certificate (last 6 months)

A prerequisite for participation for juvenile runners is the sending or presentation of their student ID as well as the responsible statement of consent of the guardian until the official deadline for registration.

4. Distinctions – Prizes

Prizes (medal and diploma) are awarded to the first three winners of the Men’s and Women’s general classification of All Roads. A cup is awarded only to the first athlete and the first athlete of each Road. Awards will also be given to the most populous team and the best team.

All runners who will finish, will be given a commemorative medal while they will have the option of printing an electronic diploma of participation begins as soon as the final results are formalized.

5. Registration Forms – Registration Methods – Types of Registration
5.1 Registrations

The applications for the Marathon Road, the Half Marathon 10,000m. and 5,000m., should be completed by April 1, 2022.

CAUTION!
This year due to the pandemic situation there will be a limited number of participants in all races. When the expected number of participants is completed, the registration period as well as the payments will be stopped automatically.

5.2 Ways of Registration

5.3 Types of Registration

The registrations are divided into:

a. Individual, which are made by individuals. Upon receipt of the sports equipment, it is necessary to show the ID and the documents of the discount package (student pass / unemployment card / student ID / military ID / SEGAS track and field athlete card) if selected, as well as the proof of participation fee.

In case of receipt of equipment of another runner, it is necessary to show a photocopy of the police ID or passport of his representative.

During the operation of the Registration Center, underage runners who have registered individually, must provide their police ID as well as the responsible statement of consent of the guardian, in order to receive their sports equipment.

b. Team, for 10 people and over, without restriction in the choice of Road Race. The group registrations are addressed to sports clubs, runners’ clubs, gyms, companies, schools, private and public organizations, travel agencies, but also simple groups of people who wish to participate as a team. The discount provided in the group registration is 5 euros per person in the 10,000m Road Races. and 5,000m. and 10 euros per person in the Marathon and Half Marathon.

During group registration, a team leader is appointed, who can be the same runner. In any case, the team leader represents the team on various issues vis-.-Vis the organizers.

Upon receipt of his team equipment, the team leader must have his / her police ID with him / her, as well as the proof of the deposit of his / her team participation fee. If it is not possible to receive the equipment from him, his replacement must be officially nominated at the event, as a representative of the team, who upon receipt must have with him his identity card and proof of participation fee team’s.

In case there are minor runners in the team, the team leader becomes responsible to provide the responsible statements of consent of the guardians, in order to receive their equipment.

* The discount package concerns the unemployed, students, pupils, officers of the Armed Forces and Security Forces, and group registrations, who must present the valid proof of their capacity at the secretariat upon receipt of the participation package.

ATTENTION: The group registrations of the athletes of the Associations of EAS SEGAS Dodekanisou will be carried out through EAS SEGAS Dodecanese by depositing the fee in the accounts of EAS (ETHNIKI GR3701108200000082000275618 on), GR sending it to her email (segasdod@gmail.com).

Group participation of the athletes of the Clubs of EAS SEGAS Dodekanisou is defined in all the races Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5 km with the return of half the price to the clubs after the end of the race (through EAS SEGAS Dodecanese).

6.2 Provision of sports equipment and participation packages

The benefits for each participation depending on the race are as follows:

Marathon road: Commemorative technical t-shirt, participation number, electronic timing, commemorative medal, catering during the race and at the finish, provision of medical services, electronic diploma of participation.

Half marathon road: Commemorative technical t-shirt, participation number, electronic timing, commemorative medal, catering during the race and at the finish, provision of medical services, electronic diploma of participation.

Road 10,000m. & 5,000m: Souvenir technical t-shirt entry number, electronic timing, souvenir medal, water supply, medical services, electronic certificate of participation.

6.3 Payment Methods

ATTENTION: In order for a registration to be considered complete and the participation to be valid, a participation application must have been made and the participation fee must be paid.

7. Arrival of Runners

All runners must be at their starting point at least 60 minutes before the start time.

8. Health Coverage

In any case, all competitors participate at their own risk.

The organizers have no responsibility for what happens, during the race, related to HEALTH issues and is due to lack of preventive medical examination.
Participants are advised to have recently undergone a medical examination.
The organizers will not be required to provide medical certificates for any athlete, since all participants compete at their own risk and minors under the responsibility of their guardians.
9. Support Stations

9.1 Along the Marathon route there will be 15 support stations for runners, starting from the 5th km.

Bottled water is available to participants in the Finish as well as every 2.5 km. after the 5th km.
Energy drink will be available at the stations at the 5th km at the 10th km, 15th km, 20th km, 25th km, 30th km, 35th km and 40th km.
There will be sponges with water at 7.5 km, 12.5 km, 17.5 km, 22.5 km, 27.5 km, 32.5 km and 37.5 km.
Bananas will be available at the stations: 25th km and 30th km and 35th km, and at the finish.
Energy gel is available at the 20th km.
Chemical toilets will be available every 2.5 km on the route
Medical support will be available at the start, at all stations of the route and at the finish.
Bottled water, energy drinks and bars and rehabilitation sports equipment for the Marathon and Half Marathon runners will be available at the finish.

9.2 Along the Half Marathon route there will be 7 support stations for runners, starting from the 5th km.

10. Kilometer Indications

On all routes there will be visible indications per kilometer.

11. Time Limit for Completion of Games

The finish time for the Marathon is 6 hours from the start of the Marathon. For the Half Marathon 3 hours, at 10km. 100 minutes, at 5km 55 minutes.

ATTENTION: The time limit for crossing the 21 km is 3 hours from the moment the Marathon starts.

ATTENTION: Athletes who may continue their effort beyond the set time limit, should know that they are running or walking at their own risk. The Traffic Police will hand over the race route to the traffic gradually, after the last runner passes through the supply stations within the set time limit.

12. Electronic Timing – Results
12.1 Electronic Timing

The electronic timing of all Roads as well as the calculation and publication of the results in real time will be undertaken by an official timing company.

Electronic control and timing carpets, for the recording of the intermediate times there will be:

Marathon: at the start, at the turning points, at 21 km and at the finish.
Half marathon: at the start, at the turning points, and at the finish.
10,000m Road Race: at the start, at the turning points, and at the finish.
5,000m Road Race: at the start, at the turning points, and at the finish.
Competitors who do not display an electronic display at the points mentioned above will be canceled.
12.2 Results

The unofficial results will be announced in real time on the internet, allowing anyone interested to file an objection within five calendar days. The official results will be announced within ten working days.

13. Regulations

The races will be conducted in accordance with the regulations of SEGAS, IAAF and AIMS.
The runners must receive exclusively from the Registration Center their racing equipment, as well as the souvenir material of the event.
