The Municipality of Poros, the Saronic Triathlon Club and the company whynot organize on 28 & 29 May 2022, the multisport POROSEA sport event (triathlon, aquathlon, swimming and running) on ​​the beautiful island of Poros. The cosmopolitan beauty of Poros, with its amazing routes and the unique enclosed sea, are the absolute guarantees for a special 2-day sports. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Ministry of Tourism of EOT of EOMOP of the EEA With the technical support of PEPA Mayor’s call, With enthusiasm, fun, anticipation and mood for many surprises, the Municipality of Poros and the company whynot, we plan the routes for Porosea that will contain triathlon, running and swimming.

As every year the whole island, the Services of the Municipality, the sports clubs, the businessmen and first of all our volunteers, will be on foot. Our aim is to offer all of you a perfect organization both in terms of competition, as well as in terms of hospitality, artistic events and in general the enjoyment of our island. City Run Kids 1500m

The start will be from Heroes Square in the direction of the ferry boat dock running on Papadopoulou Avenue. Reversal to the port parking (750m) and return to the finish arch. The start and finish are at the same point but in the opposite direction.

City Run 5000m

The start will be from Heroes Square in the direction of the east side of the island, running on the coastal avenue Papadopoulou. The athletes pass outside the stadium and at the main intersection, turn right on the Poros-Naos Poseidonas road. After the bridge, left on the coastal road Lambraki and all straight to the turning point of 5km. Then the athletes return moving again on Lambraki, where at the end they turn right on Poros-Naos Poseidonas street and all the way straight to the finish (Papadopoulou Avenue). The start and finish are at the same point.

City Run 10.000m

The start will be from Heroes Square in the direction of the east side of the island, running on the coastal avenue Papadopoulou. The athletes pass outside the stadium and at the main intersection, turn right on the Poros-Naos Poseidonas road. After the bridge, left on the coastal road Lambraki and all straight until just before the beach of the Russian Naval Station where there is a turning point of 10km. Then the athletes return moving again on Lambraki, where at the end they turn right on Poros-Naos Poseidonas street and all the way straight to the finish (Papadopoulou Avenue).

The start and finish are at the same point.

Triathlon Standard Triathlon (Individual – Relay):

swimming: 1500m,

Bike: 36km,

Swimming (2 loops): The start will be from the beach in front of the municipal stadium of Poros. The athletes will go clockwise to the next three buoys completing the first 750m. Perform the same route a second time before finishing at the starting point.

The start and finish are at the same point, while the route is triangular.

Bicycle (2 loops): After leaving the change zone, the athletes move right on Papadopoulou Avenue and then along the beach on Monastiriou Avenue. Two kilometers later, the uphill part of the route begins, which lasts about 7 kilometers. Athletes follow the markings along the route and always move according to the coke. The descent begins at 7 km. Athletes must pay great attention throughout the downhill section and much more in the sharp right turn after the 8th kilometer. At the end of the downhill route (15km), and while the athletes are moving around the island, they reach the beach of the Russian Naval Station and through the coastal road Lambraki heading to the junction (Bridge) before the change zone, where they turn left to perform the route for second time. The next time they stop at the same junction, turn right and return to the change zone.

Running (2 loops): The athletes, after leaving the change zone, turn right in the direction of the coastal avenue of Papadopoulou, where they turn left, moving on it for a few meters, before turning slightly left in the beautiful cobbled streets of Poros. After the 1st race kilometer, the athletes go left on the coast where after 400m they will have to follow the right route * on the sidewalk and next to the boats (ATTENTION: the left route leads to the finish). They continue in the direction of the east side of the island, running peripherally on the coastal boulevard, passing at 4km from the exit of the change zone. At this point, they have completed a four-kilometer cycle, which they will have to perform a second time in the same way, thus completing 8km. To complete the distance, there are 1.7km left which must be performed like the first 1.7km, as if the athletes were starting from the beginning. The big difference is that this time they should NOT follow the right path * on the sidewalk and next to the boats, BUT the left one *, which leads to the finish.

The program can be modified according to the specifics of the event. For the cycling part, the regulations of the Hellenic Cycling Federation apply regarding the conduct of the race and the equipment of the participants. For the participation of a minor, the guardian must sign the relevant responsible statement. There will be a timely announcement of water temperature for the use or not of a wet suit. In case of use, the allowed thickness of the uniform is up to 4 mm. Before the athletes enter the zone to leave their bicycle, the judges of the event check and photograph the athlete in uniform and bicycle. We approach the check in process with our helmet worn and secured, our bicycle ready for inspection, the stickers placed correctly, the timing chip also worn. In swimming, participants are required to wear the hat that will be given to them by the event. The helmet is mandatory on the cycling leg for each participant. It must be properly secured for any movement on your bike (even when you have the bike in hand) in and out of the change area. The race will be held with non-drafting regulations. Keep a distance of 12 meters from the front wheel of one bike to the front wheel of the other (10 meters net distance in between). The penalty for irregular drafting is 2 minutes in the penalty box. The process of overtaking in cycling must last a maximum of 20 “during which the athlete who is overtaken must reduce speed and let his athlete pass. He is then allowed to try to overtake himself again. We always warn that overtaking is taking place. Athletes must move without being supported or pushed or ridden by other athletes, whether or not they are moving on or off the field or facilitated by fixed points when changing direction. It is recommended to use triathlon swimwear to the standards of WORLD TRIATHLON (ITU). The number must be visible on the front during the run, and is not required during cycling for Age Group Athletes. The event does NOT provide a race belt. Wear the timing chip with the special strap, around the ankle of the left foot. You will receive in your envelope 3 stickers with your participation number. Insert 1 small sticker on the front of the helmet. You stick the big sticker on the saddle of your bike. If you are not sure how to become one, consult an experienced athlete. You will find in the change area, the box with your number. This is your place and you are not allowed to move your cart to another part of the zone. Athletes place their belongings in the basket, while the helmet is placed on the handlebars of the bike in a safe way and without being tied (penalty 15 ” otherwise). Keep the change area clean with all your items in your personal cart. You have the right to a pair of shoes in front of your basket. The penalty for disorder is CANCELLATION in case of non-compliance. In the distances super sprint & sprint all kinds of bicycles are allowed, provided that it is in good condition and not considered dangerous. Disc bikes with disc brakes are allowed in all categories. Failure to execute the penalties in the penalty box will result in the cancellation of the athlete. Athletes are responsible for knowing the routes, laps, reversals, and any penalties that may be imposed on them during the race. You look at the tables in the penalty box to make sure you have not received a penalty. An athlete who does not comply with the rules and instructions of the judges will be canceled. When in some sports there are time limits (Cut offs) they are mentioned in detail on the pages of each sport. After this time, those who remain on the track run at their own risk and are at the discretion of the organizing committee as to whether it will include them in the official results. Start with the horn whistle, after “Take Positions”. If no continuous whistles are heard the release is valid and not repeated. The micro-camera on the bike is allowed after the approval of the race referee. Important points – differences for the Relay The “baton” is the timing chip. A team that any member moves or terminates without the timing chip will be canceled. All baton changes (from swimming to cycling and from cycling to running) take place within a change area next to the team cyclist’s bike with each athlete passing the team chip to the left foot of the next one. The swimmer places one of the small stickers with the number on the bag he will receive. The start of the swimmer is not close to the change zone, so he will need to give his bag with his things to a vehicle of the organization. The cyclist places a small sticker with the number on the helmet in front, and the large sticker on the saddle of the bike. A team cyclist who moves without numbers will be out of the race. The cyclist in any case does NOT ride a bike within the area of ​​change, as provided by the regulations of the individual. The bib (number) is worn by the runner – it does not have to be worn by the cyclist. The runner wears it on the front of his body and has to finish with it. The event does NOT provide a race belt.

Change Area (PA)

THE POSITION OF THE BICYCLE DURING THE CHANGES: In TA1, hung from the saddle in a horizontal position so that the front wheel points to the center lane of the PA. In T2, it is allowed to be hung in any direction but within the individual point and without obstructing the flow or blocking the other athletes.
