Aqua Adventures by Artemida  | 45 June 2022

The Sports Organization of Spata-Artemida “Artemis” gives this summer a dynamic start, as the first weekend of June one of the biggest events in the field of mass sports, will be organized. Save the date: Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 June 2022.

Aqua Adventures by Artemida is an event-meeting for the friends of open water swimming. For the very first time a coastal Open Water Swimming event of 10km will be organized in Attica! Smaller distances are also available, 5k, 2k and 1k! Moreover, our little friends will have the opportunity to participate in a 200m swimming event!

Equally important is the Greek Aquathlon Championship that will take place under the auspices of the Hellenic Triathlon of the Pentathlon Federation, along with open categories and age groups, giving a chance to everyone to participate!

The primary focus of the event is the development of sports tourism while attracting athletes, the cultivation of fair play, the values of sports and of course the stimulation of the local tourism economy.

Detailed events:

10km open water swimming is an event made for experienced swimmers and anyone wanted to  participate must have completed at least one 5k swimming distance in less than 2 hours.

The 5km open water swimming is also an event made for experienced swimmers and the ones registering must make sure that they have done enough training to stay safe in the water.

The 2km and 1km swimming is an easier, triangular route in which everyone can participate according to their abilities. Minors (with a responsible parent statement) from 15 years and over can also participate in this category.

Open water swimming distance of 200m is especially made for our little friends, and a reason to start training early!

Also, Lifesaving Races, open for everybody and free kids races! Learn more here!

Aquathlon is a race that combines swimming and running! The race of Aqua Adventures by Artemida,  will include 750m swimming distances and a 5km run. In the Aquathlon race, anyone can participate in the “open” category,  individually or in a relay (one person swimming and one running).

The Greek Aquathlon Championship concerns only the athletes who have an active athlete’s card from the Pentathlon Federation.

Tips – Behavior

It is advisable for each athlete to:

– Advise a weather report a day before the race to properly prepare his clothing and equipment for the day of the race.

– Receive the bib number, in time.

– Take care to check the water supply points and to check if he needs to carry his own supplies

– Has his attention on the markings during the race. Turn back the same way he headed should he misses a point along the way, until he finds the correct path.

– We respect nature and our athletes: We do not throw rubbish outside the designated checkpoints.

– We respect our teammates when we are in a tight spot. We just ask them to make room for us in a polite way. When one moves slowly and slows down the athletes who follow him, he  must step aside and give room to the fastest ones.

– We help if we see someone injured or going the wrong way. We report to a person from the event or a volunteer if there is an injury event.

– Do not leave the race without first informing the organizer or the nearest judge in person.

– Do not disturb the timers asking for results while the race is in progress.

– Do not move cars during the race and on the racetrack. There are athletes continuing the race, and we deprive them of their safety.

The only penalty imposed on all offenses & violations of the regulation, is the cancellation of participation or expulsion of the athlete, depending on the time of the offense.
